The Business Leaders I’m Learning From this Season

If you’re still looking for the right educator, the right voice, the right mentor—those people are out there. You don’t have to follow who we follow. Chart your own path. Choose business leaders to learn from.

For me, this has been about finding educators whose teaching style matches how my brain works.

When you find the right educator, block out the noise. Stop bouncing around. Soak it in. Study their methods.

That shift alone has changed everything for me.

Business Leader: Pace Morby

Pace Morby is a giant in the real estate space.

For several years, my husband Dane and I talked about investing in real estate. We wanted to get started—but to do it smart. Real estate is heavy on capital. It requires market awareness—financial, political, and local. Without knowledge, it can be risky.

In the beginning, we followed everyone.

One educator said short-term rentals were the key to generational wealth. The next said short-term rentals were dead. Strategies contradicted each other. Exit plans conflicted. We were stuck in shiny object syndrome.

Then we found Pace—and went all in.

We stopped following everyone else. Studied only him. Drilled down.

He teaches every exit strategy—even creative finance. He breaks it down simply. It’s clear. It makes sense.

We invested in his private community. It was a hefty investment—and worth it.

He hosts a massive real estate convention once a year. We attended in Dallas. Over 3,000 people flew in from around the world.

The speakers were impressive.

But the real value wasn’t on stage.

It was in the in-between moments.

We networked. We asked questions:

  • What are you working on?
  • What’s your strength?
  • What’s your weakness?
  • How can I serve?

The community Pace has built is built on service. He calls everyone a “go-giver”—and he enforces it. If someone acts unethically in a deal, they’re removed. Permanently.

Everyone operates from contribution first. Not asking, but giving. Trusting that when help is needed, the community will respond.

If you’re looking for business leaders to learn from in real estate, he’s at the top of my list.

Business Leader: Cody Sanchez

Cody Sanchez was one of the convention speakers—and the one I was most excited to hear.

Her philosophy is simple: Main Street over Wall Street.

She focuses on acquiring blue-collar, “unsexy” businesses. Recently, she invested in a nationwide window-cleaning franchise.

What stood out most?

While many speakers leaned into motivation and hype, Cody brought tactics. Data. Statistics. Clear execution strategy.

When I leave my family to attend a convention, I want implementation. I want action steps.

She delivered.

Her book, Main Street Millionaire, breaks down how to acquire small businesses and highlights the massive opportunity created by retiring baby boomers.

She’s direct. Clear. Tactical.

Business Leader: Ed Mylett

Every once in a while, I need a reset.

That’s when I listen to Ed Mylett.

He’s motivational and heavy on personal development—but effective. When I’m stuck or dragging, his content gets me moving.

He’s my kick-in-the-pants voice.

Business Leader: Justin Prince

Justin Prince recently launched Make Wellness, a company centered on bioactive precision peptides.

Dane and I invested together. Outside of real estate, this is the only business we’re building side by side—LLC, bank account, EIN, all of it.

Justin has a rare ability to simplify complex topics. I’d been hearing about peptides for years but never fully understood them. He made it clear.

I joined the business before trying the products. The structure made sense. The compensation plan made sense.

Within 90 days, the company paid out over $20 million in commissions and is projected to hit $100 million in year one.

As investors, we receive monthly training from him. His keynote speaking fee is six figures, but we get access regularly.

Business Leader: Cowboy Leisure

Gina from Cowboy Leisure is another business leader I’m studying closely.

She sells only three things:

  • Two digital products
  • One one-hour consult

That’s it.

Her clarity is powerful.

Her top product, Real Saloon, teaches Instagram Reels strategy without ad spend. She covers:

  • The science behind Reels
  • The tools she uses
  • Structure and messaging
  • How to create strategic virality

She averages $25,000–$35,000 per day using what she teaches.

Her second product, Howdy Fit, documents how she lost 60 pounds naturally in one year.

Focused, clear, no fluff.

There’s a lesson in simplicity.

Business Leader: Shannon McKinstrie

Shannon McKinstrie’s podcast is short, tactical, and highly actionable.

She reverse engineers viral content in real time—breaking down:

  • The hook
  • The call to action
  • Caption structure
  • Music choice
  • Video length

Then she links the exact Reel in her show notes.

It’s practical. Implementable. Efficient.

My Biggest Takeaways

I’m no longer following twenty different voices.

I’ve narrowed it down.

  • Pace for real estate
  • Cody for acquisition strategy
  • Justin for business and wellness
  • Gina for Reels
  • Shannon for Instagram execution

I study and then I implement.

That’s the difference.

If you’re looking for business leaders to learn from, choose wisely—and then go deep.

Stop consuming endlessly. Start implementing intentionally.

And remember:

You don’t have to be one thing.

For a long time, I believed I could only be “the venue girl.” I still love being the venue girl. But we’re all multifaceted.

This season has been about embracing that.

And it’s been energizing to build again.

If there’s someone you’re learning from right now—inside or outside the wedding industry—I’d love to hear about it.

We’re always looking for new voices to learn from.
